Crossing Thoughts
Perfect Book Machine for Self-Publishers
Written by Maggie Pagratis

I personally think this is a great machine for those who can afford it and are sure that their book is worth the effort.

The Perfect Book machine essentially prints one book per 60 seconds. The books are perfect bound and look exactly as any book published by traditional publishers (given it's edited and designed properly beforehand). You could then find a distributor, and off you could go into the world of bookstores.

I'm not a fan of monopolies and am a huge  fan of free speech. I think this machine is a great enabler of free communication.

Quick Review of The Soloist
Written by Maggie Pagratis

I went to see The Soloist  yesterday, starring Robert Downey Junior. His acting was exceptional and so was Jamie Foxx's. The movie overall was insightful and touching. It showed that everyone has struggles and pain— but some have greater obstacles than others. It was, however, a little slow-moving and would have been better to see at home on DVD.

Imagine hearing voices in your head; imagine how hard it would be to concentrate on anything, accomplish anything. As Paulo Coelho says, not everyone's cup of suffering is the same size.

Witchcraft
Written by Maggie Pagratis

I finished a book about witchcraft today— I won't mention its name because I do not want to put down someone's hard work and or another's favourite book—but it creeped me out. I went in with an open mind, already fascinated by anything magical and intoxicating and new, and I left the last page wanting to run to my Bible.

It did make me want to look up the different Traditions, though.

Thy Will Be Done PDF Print E-mail
Written by Maggie Pagratis

When I was younger I used to sit and beg God and the universe for what I truly wanted. And when my wishes did not come true, I cried miserably.

Now, I simply accept, and think: Well, maybe God knows things about that place that I don't know. Maybe he is sparing me grief in the long term...maybe he has something more suitable in store for me.

This brings me a great amount of calm and spares me tons of suffering.

Try those very words: "Thy will be done,"  and see where it takes you.

His Warrior of Light
Written by Maggie Pagratis

I just finished reading Paulo Coelho's Warrior of Light. It is a slow read but very rewarding. In it he says that if you do not know how to meditate simply pick a word, any word, and keep repeating it over and over.

Another passage which I found interesting is where he mentions the three simplest words in almost all languages: Yes. Love. God. If you were to repeat a phrase, then, it would be simple to repeat "Yes, Love God."

That man is amazing. He has given me hours' worth of reading and thinking.
